75cl * Rioja, Spain
Contino is slightly unusual in Rioja, being a single estate and making wines bottled on-site (in a French Chateau style). A patch of Graciano vines (known as 'Olivo') was recovered next to an 800 year old olive tree and now is responsible for the Vina del Olivo bottling. Expressive of sweet black fruit and herbs, menthol and sweet spice, this is a big, chunky wine with some delightfully mature complexity.

This bottle is part of a wine cellar purchased from a highly respected Master of Wine (MW) with whom I have worked for many years and who is recognised as one of the world’s Italian wine experts. It has been stored in the MW’s own cellar or climate-controlled storage and I have every belief that it is in tip-top condition. However, as with all purchases of this nature there has to be an element of caveat emptor to proceedings – as such, we will not be able to offer refunds or returns on this item.
