Pinot Noir
75cl * 13% ABV * Burgundy, France
"Domaine Tollot-Beaut used to be noted for a big, rich, slightly burly and oaky style of Pinot Noir, but under the brother/sister team of Natalie and Jean-Paul Tollot’s direction, these are now much more nuanced, delicate, and less oaked styles of Pinot Noir that retain the complexity of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. The domaine is situated in Chorey-lès-Beaune and it is this wine in particular that the domaine is noted for, coming from several parcels of old vines that showcase the ripe black cherry characteristic that Chorey tends to develop in its wines. Whilst not as famous as the Burgundian villages to the north or across the RN74 road to the west, wines from Chorey have a charm all to themselves, being a ripe style of Burgundy that’s also surprisingly nuanced from the best producers – Tollot-Beaut is certainly that, and this wine is a perfect reflection of the modern changes to Burgundy."
