Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay
75cl * 12.5% ABV * Loire Valley France
A brilliant and quite rare white from the Loire, that uses a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Chardonnay to produce a very similar style of Sauvignon to Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé, but at considerably less cost.
Bone dry, unoaked, fresh and delicious, with aromas of citrus and white flowers. Ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood and also an ideal match with goat's cheese... and not just because the name of the château is also that of a cheese!
Also - random fact - the château itself was used as the inspiration for TinTin's friend Captain Haddock's house in the comic books, quite a claim to fame!
