Syrah
75cl * 14.5% ABV * Colchagua Valley, Chile
Celebrating the coming together of two great continents, represented by two great winemakers (Felipe Tosso, from Chile and John Duval from Australia), is Pangea - a wine that symbolises that time when the world was one large land mass.
A well-rounded, distinguished wine with an intense, dark colour. It has delicious, complex aromas which come through in the mouth with soft notes of red and blue berries, harmoniously intermingled with spices like black pepper, dark chocolate and subtle notes of vanilla and caramel. At essence, a Syrah from the Apalta Valley that faithfully expresses its terroir of granitic soils with high quartz content, properties that are reflected in every glass. This is a well-structured wine with plenty of acidity and ripe, firm tannins.
Since the 2007 vintage this wine has consistently scored over 90 points from critics such as Robert Parker, The Wine Spectator and Tim Atkin, with James Suckling awarding this vintage 93 points.
Pairs well with beef and venison.
