Ridge's first vines were planted in 1885, but it took almost 100 years for the producer to wow the world: its wines swept the board at Steven Spurrier's 1976 Judgement of Paris competition. Ever since, Ridge has produced wines that have been rightfully regarded alongside the finest Bordeaux blends and Burgundy's top whites. 

However, Zinfandel has become another jewel in the Ridge crown and Three valleys is a blend of mainly zinfandel from multiple vineyards throughout Sonoma. 

2023 was a cool growing season in Sonoma, leading to a slowing of the ripening process. This wine is terroir expressive especially from the sights with gravelly loam, and vines from ten to a hundred year old vines, adding complexity, vibrancy and minerality. All in all there is a great purity to this wine. Dark berries and dark cherries abound as does baking spices and cedar. fine tannins support the complex notes. Its long finish is expressive of cocoa, tobacco and its backbone of minerality come through.
