Pinot Noir

6 x 75cl * Burgundy, France

An Australian in Burgundy doesn't sound that out of place given the lengths which we travel these days, but an Australian making wine in Burgundy is almost un-heard of, well at least until Mark Haisma. Mark left Australia and Yarra Yering and made his way to Burgundy in 2007. From there he has won the French hearts and business began buying juice and wine and has now progressed to Mark having holdings of his own. Like many in Burgundy he is practicing low intervention and makes wines that have great energy and elegance.

On such site that Mark has acquired is En Pallud. This site boasts old vines and of course makes cellar dubbed 'Le Shed'. This Gevrey is rich and complex and embodies the Mark Haisma philosophy of soil up being a real expression of its terroir.

Rachel Gibson, Taurus Buyer, 'Mark is understandably famous for his Gevrey and we were captivated by this one in particular. From fruit grown on old vines (60-70 years old) on his own Domaine, there is an enchanting complexity to this wine. Some savoury gamey notes are mingling in with the brooding, earthy, yet aromatic red fruits.'

Please note prices are in-bond and exclude VAT at 20% and Duty, which are payable when the wines land, estimated in Summer/Autumn 2025.
