Founded in 1731, Bouchard's is one of the oldest and largest estates in Burgundy. As well as having 30 acres of Grand Cru vineyards to their name, they buy in fruit from the smallholders across Chorey, Monthelie and Pernaud-Vergelesses in order to make good value negociant wine.
The Clos de la Mousse is a 8.3 acres walled vineyard that is under the complete ownership of Bouchard Pere & Fils. As a result uniform viticultural practices can be carried out and such a large site provides Bouchard with a great selection of fruit. The vineyard is located west of Beaune and benefits from its south east direction by maximising its sun exposure.
Fruit aromas combined with light toasty notes on the nose. Both fleshy and refined, Clos de la Mousse reveals its charms with delicacy. Red fruit and brown spices express themselves on the palate with a good classic Burgundian savoury finish. Good ageing potential.
