We are pleased to be able to offer an exceptionally limited amount of the 24th release (Mark XXIV) in the Exceptional Cask Selection - Foursquare 2011 - continuing the award-winning Vintage series which launched with the ground-breaking, and critically acclaimed 2004.
Foursquare 2011 is a Single Blended Rum, in that it is a blend of heavy and light marques Rums distilled in the copper double retort pot-still, and the continuous twin column stills of Foursquare Distillery. It is then matured in Barbados for 12 years in ex-bourbon cask American white oak, before blending and bottling at the distillery.
It offers both a welcome familiarity in the house style, but compliments this with a unique flavour profile. A complex and evolving sip, that is balanced in its delivery. Top notes of zesty lemon and Saville orange oil run over rich caramel and gentle notes of white chocolate, with fresh ginger and dried coconut. Treacle tart and vanilla ice cream abound on the palate alongside juicy sultanas, poached summer fruits, and tart Victoria plums. The finish lingers with gentle notes of fresh ginger, blueberry and black cherry, with a warming, dry finish, and a little peppery spice. Very moreish.
