75cl * 13.0% * Burgundy, France
A steal at this price, this ever popular white Burgundy won't hang around long. Top-notch fruit comes from, among other communes, Puligny and Meursault and creates a 'mere Bourgogne blanc' that's zipping with lemon freshness balanced out by the smoothness of the oakiness in the background.
Aromas of white flowers, peach, grilled almond and lemon peel dominate Les Sétilles, followed by a lively but mineral palate full of freshly cut green apples and a touch of spice. 100% barrel fermented (only 10% new) and very attractive, it will be perfect for drinking over the next few years.
Ideal as an aperitif as well as with a fillet of swordfish marinated in lime, with charcuteries, fried calamari or a hot or cold Brie.
"A width of ripe lemon freshness – an impression of weight. Bright, direct, bubbling with energy and the accent of salinity is clear. Wide, waves of tasty mineral flavour – impressively long lasting for the label. That’s an excellent Sétilles." Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report (January 2021)
"Pale lemon, remarkably steely for the vintage. Pure lemon and lime notes in the mouth with a fine clean pure finish." 88 points, Jasper Morris 'Inside Burgundy' (January 2021)
Serving temperature: 10-12°C.
Drinking window: 2023 and 2028.
