Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
75cl * 13% ABV * Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux in 2020 seems to have all the freshness that made the outstanding 2016 so appealing, but also combines the warmth and accessibility of vintages like 2009 - we can't get enough of this vintage, even if volumes are largely down. Chateau Le Gay is located within Pomerol and considered one of the most charming and beautiful estates on the right bank. Owned by the Robin sisters known for their famous family motto 'Quality beats quantity'. Awarded 94-96 points from Parker and 98-99 from J. Suckling. Offering a medium to full-bodied style, this wine erupts with an assortment of dark fruits on the nose. The plate offers layers of the dark fruits accompanied with exotic spice, providing a structured yet fresh and velvety finish.
Drink 2028 - 2048.
"Careful and seductive oaking, this develops and builds in power and finesse over the palate, and is a seriously enjoyable Pomerol, just packed full of appellation typicity." 94 points, Jane Anson (May 2021)
