Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot
75cl * 12.5% ABV * Pauillac, Bordeaux, France
A First Growth, one of only four now iconic chateaux to gain this status in the legendary 1855 classification (Chateau Mouton Rothschild was later added as the fifth and final chateau in 1973). Throughout the latter half of the 20th Century, the Rothchild’s also expanded their empire, purchasing a second Pauillac property: Chateau Duhart-Milon, as well as Chateau Evangile in Pomerol and Chateau Rieussec in Sauternes.
Lafite displays the finest Pauillac characterisation of 2004, with the hallmark fragrant aromas, harmonious, well balanced flavour that comes from the perfectly ripened grapes. This has a wondrous bouquet, very sensual and pure, with blackberry, graphite and cedar. Medium bodied and refined, with silky tannins and a truly beautiful structure.
Pair with classic roast beef, game, lamb roasts, stews, or cheeses such as Camembert, Brie or Roquefort. Decant and filter carefully to remove sediment and leave for 2-3 hours. Serve at 16-17°C.
