Pinot Noir
75cl * Organic * 12.5% ABV * Burgundy, France
Dominique Gruhier's story is one of such bad luck that it hardly seems real: an uncooperative co-op; old cement tanks full of brettanomyces; a winery burned down by an arsonist; a collapsing cellar; lawsuits; and so on. And yet, Dominique is purportedly one of the most charming and positive vignerons in Burgundy. His vineyards are based in Epineuil, just north of Chablis - it is a region known for producing distinctive and pure reds from Pinot Noir that are full of minerality. He has been farming organically since 2003. Vibrant, with plenty of juicy red and dark fruit, but also light in body. Punchy acidity and good tannic structure, makes this excellent with game and hard cheeses.
