A highly-intense ruby colour with an enviable shine. Impressively complex nose with a bouquet that ranges from liquorice to balsamic notes, and with spicy hints of prune and cherry. Silky on the palate, dense without being too concentrated, and with wonderfully-balanced alcohol and acidity. A crescendo of flavours in the lovely, long finish.
Pair this with grilled lamb chops, Bearnaise sauces, meats prepared alla Diavola, and grilled ribeye steaks, wild boar stew, and baked stuffed vegetables.
