Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscatel blend with fresh strawberries
75cl * Vegan * 8% ABV * Colchagua Valley, Chile
From the Gardens of Versailles all the way to Chile. Rescued from history, a unique combination of sparkling wine and fresh strawberries invented by none other than Marie-Antoinette…
The little white Fresita (strawberry in Spanish) were stumbled upon in Chile in 1714 by the explorer, military engineer, mathematician, pyrotechnic enthusiast and reputed spy, Amédée-François Frézier. Fortunately for French gourmands, part of his extensive work included recording the flora and fauna of regions he visited so when he found Fragaria Chilenosis - the humble Chilean strawberry, he excitedly delivered them to the French Court on his return. Some years later the fragrant fruits delighted the Queen of France, who enjoyed them with her daily glass of champagne.
Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Moscatel grapes from family owned Vineyards located in the fertile lands of the Colchagua and Maipo Valleys of Chile are used to create this distinctive sparkling wine. The finest Patagonian strawberries (from the foot of the Andes) are selected by hand to produce the sweet and natural strawberry pulp. This gives a deep, rich crimson colour, delicious strawberry aromas and fine, persistent bubbles. On the palate, an explosion of luscious strawberries blend perfectly with green fruit flavours, delivering a crisp and fresh finish with delicate honeydew melon and a light herbaceous character.
Served chilled, ideally between 4-6°C
