Syrah

Tardieu Laurent takes its name from the original founding partners, negociant Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent, who was originally a pastry chef.  The business is now one of the Rhône's top negociant firms, and one of the few domaines to use biodynamic farming techniques. Bottled without fining or filtration, this is a deeply pigmented wine that typically displays complex and stylish aromas with red and black fruit, floral notes and tobacco/cedar undertones.

Our small parcel of the 2012 is still remarkably youthful on the nose with a bouquet of red fruits accompanied with a dusting of smoky pepper. Lots of dark, brooding fruit that takes a while to unfold after opening, so we recommend decanting and letting the wine breath for a couple of hours before serving.  (Team Taurus - tasted March 2022)
