Over the last quarter of a century, Domaine de la Janasse has become one of the most highly regarded estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. They follow the best of both the traditional local techniques along with successful modern practices to craft a collection of truly stunning wines.
This excellent Côtes du Rhône Villages offers a glimpse of the quality of their very top wines but at a fraction of the price. Perfectly mature and ready for drinking now, this has a subtle but enticing nose of brambly red fruits and some savoury gaminess. The palate is still lively and showing some youthful fruit, with well integrated tannins and a smooth mouthfeel. Ideally decant for a couple of hours before serving. (Team Taurus - tasted March 2022)
