Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of the famous third growth St Julien estate, Chateau Lagrange.
For many years Chateau Lagrange was considered to be underperforming, until in 1983 it was purchased by the Japanese group, Suntory, which set about renovating the vineyards and the winery. With their investment and re-focus on quality, the estate is now producing world class wines once again.
Les Fiefs de Lagrange produced a fabulous wine in the excellent, warm 2005 vintage. This parcel is now fully mature and should be enjoyed now. Subtle and refined, with stewed black and red fruits, some cedar and leather notes and a mellow finish. Try matching with slow cooked shoulder of lamb for the perfect pairing.
