75cl * 12.5% ABV * Cote Rotie, France
Patrick Jasmin represents the fourth generation of winegrowers in his family, where he has been working since 1978. The property is in Ampuis, the home of some of the very finest Cote Roties, where he works the steep hillsides by hand, with meticulous attention to the finest low yielding vines, and oversees sustainable wine making throughout.
Patrick's wines have a finesse and delicate aroma that few other producers in the area can match. His wines are elegant and refined, and perfectly express the terroir's distinct character.
There is a lovely silkiness to the 2011 Cote Rotie, yet it is a mature wine and distinctly gamey now, with supple, stewed black fruits, violets and some mellow, leathery oak. Pair with slow cooked beef ribs and a green salad, or a cheese board with Comte and Gruyere.
