You'll find Domaine Matrot situated just a couple of blocks behind the church in Meursault and the grapes for his Bourgogne come predominantly from this appellation, with some also selected from Chablis. Thierry Matrot prefers to stick to subtle, older oak in these wines to allow the terroir to really shine through. The result is a glossy, pure style of wine, with a crisp core of acidity and a delicate creamy body.
This perfectly cellared and now mature Meursault is a fabulous melding of fine minerality with fleshy peachy fruit and honeysuckle perfume. The palate is succulent and generous, with some sherbet and grapefruit notes, kept in check with a stony backbone and a taut line of acidity.
