Created by the son’s highly esteemed Chablis producer Daniel Dampt, Maison Dampt came into existence in 2008, as a small negociant business that allowed the family to produce Grand Cru wines for the first time, sourcing fruit from the climat of Bougros (and also some from Les Clos).

Bright and glossy in the glass, wonderfully golden in colour. Rich and mature, but offering some lemon zest freshness so the balance is still spot on. There’s a real sense of opulence swirling in the glass, with toasted walnuts and pecans, baked brioche, some mushroomy, savoury elements and a slightly caramel finish. This wine is perfect for enjoying now. For best food pairings, I am thinking along the lines of lobster, monkfish, tuna, perhaps sushi and it could handle some spice too - whatever you choose, make sure it feels suitably lavish! (Team Taurus - tasted March 2022)
