Chateau Les Ormes de Pez is one of St-Estephe's leading Cru Bourgeois properties. It is owned and run by Jean-Michel Cazes who is also managing director of Chateau Lynch-Bages. They have 32 hectares of vineyards, which lie on soils that are rich in gravel on a subsoil of sand and clay. The grapes are hand-harvested and then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.
This attractive wine provides an abundance of stewed, dark fruits, vanilla spiced oak and a graceful, silky palate. Sweet tobacco, mint, wild herbs, aniseed and leather blend together on the soft, rounded palate.
Pair with roasted, braised or grilled meats such as steak, veal, pork and game.
