Lété-Vautrain was created in the 1960s in Château-Thierry, by Robert Lété and Liliane Vautrain, his wife. In 2011, the estate was taken over by the Baron-Fuenté Family, also from the Marne Valley. The eight-hectare vineyard stretches across the town of Château-Thierry and the neighbouring village of Essômes-sur-Marne.

Grapes are hand harvested from the vines (on limestone slopes) and sorted and then pressed in a very cool room so that no early fermentation happens before the winemaker wants it to! The resultant Champagne is light and very easy to drink; an elegant, harmonious blend, full of character and maturity. Serve it throughout the entire meal: as an aperitif, then with seafood, fish, stuffed roasted chicken, turkey and cheeses.

Recently reviewed by Decanter Magazine, where Simon Field MW said:

'Attractive aromas of peachy fruit, cotton candy and complex salty notes. Very fresh on the palate, harmonious with a persistent, creamy mousse.
