75cl * 14% ABV * Mendoza, Argentina
Bodega Catena Zapata is one of the foremost wine estates in Mendoza, Argentina. Founded in 1902 and still in family hands, it is particularly known for its rich, full-bodied red wines. As usual, the 2019 is a blend of fruit from their 90-year-old Angelica and 20-year-old Nicasia vineyard. With its distinctive label (first used on the 2015 vintage), it is packed in cases of 4 x 75cl in wood, however this price is per bottle.
"This wine offers blackberries with blue fruit and dark chocolate. Shows bark and black truffle undertones, too. The quality of the tannins is more precise and fine." James Suckling, 2021
