Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot
75cl * 14% ABV * Dry Creek Valley, California, USA
Ridge's first vines were planted in 1885, but it took almost 100 years for the producer to wow the world: its wines swept the board at Steven Spurrier's 1976 Judgement of Paris competition. Ever since, Ridge has produced wines that have been rightfully regarded alongside the finest Bordeaux blends and Burgundy's top whites.
The flagship Cabernet blend showcases some of the best fruit from the estate, grown sustainably. The first vintage was in 1892, however the old vineyard was abandoned and replanted in the late 1940s. Full-throttle and juice-rich, the vibrant hue indicates just how ripe and sensuous this is, showing sweet cassis and blueberry, cola berry and liquorice. Napa Cab doesn't get much classier than this for the price. Drink to 2034.
