Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
75cl * 13% ABV * Haut-Medoc, Bordeaux, France
The family at Château Lanessan can trace their roots back to 1793, when Jean Delbos bought the estate, which is located between Haut-Medoc and Saint-Julien. A ridge of Garonne gravel lies under the 45 hectare estate, where the family (now named Bouteiller since Jean Delbos's married granddaughter inherited the estate) grow the classic Bordeaux grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc on 30 year old (on average) vines.
Dark ruby with hints of cassis, this wine is intense yet soft with a finish that seems to float away in a most pleasing manner. The tannins are soft, but structured, making this wine easy to drink alone or with something delicious like Roquefort cheese of a joint of beef.
