Nestled in the foothills near Bolgheri, Ornellaia lies in a unique position, a few kilometres inland from the Mediterranean, whose cool sea breezes provide a moderating effect. The estate has become synonymous with Super Tuscan wine - top-flight reds made from Bordeaux varieties. The winemaker, Olga Fusari, has marked this as a particularly lively and aromatic wine, full of tangy freshness and persistence, and has chosen "La Grazia" (graceful) to describe the character of the 2018 vintage, so you can expect a more finessed, rather than powerful Ornellaia here. Rather shy and muted - as you might expect for such a young wine - this will take on fleshiness and fruitiness with time in bottle. However, there's plenty to look forward to in the sweet red berry fruit, mocha spice notes and dried floral tones that are just showing themselves now. Drink from 2025.

Grace is the divine gift of nature, a balance of symmetry, proportion and harmony which expresses itself in Ornellaia 2018.
