12 x 75cl * 13.5% ABV * Lalande-de-Pomerol, Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux in 2020 seems to have all the freshness that made the outstanding 2016 so appealing, but also combines the warmth and accessibility of vintages like 2009 - we can't get enough of this vintage, even if volumes are largely down. The Lalande-de-Pomerol lies just north of Pomerol and produces a style of wine more suited for younger drinking - organic certified Chateau Siaurac is the expert in this region. Ripe and creamy (Merlot dominant), this is awash with small, sweet berries, plums and baking spices. Highly polished and very accessible. Drink 2025-2026.
Bright, cheerful and full of energy and a quiet power. Carefully extracted blackberry fruits, with an earthy hedgerow nuance running alongside, this is good quality and easy to recommend.

A very attractive core of fruit this year with a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a racy finish for the appellation.
