12 x 75cl * 13.5% ABV * St Julien, Bordeaux, France
Bordeaux in 2020 seems to have all the freshness that made the outstanding 2016 so appealing, but also combines the warmth and accessibility of vintages like 2009 - we can't get enough of this vintage, even if volumes are largely down. Third-growth Lagrange has gone from strength-to-strength since its acquisition by Suntory and the major investment that followed. Awarded 94-96 points from Parker, it is certainly a wine that exudes class and sensuality: redolent of cherry and cassis kissed with liquorice, it has soft, fine tannins that offer just the right amount of energy and grip. Drink 2026 - 2046.
94 - 96 Points from Robert Parker
