Pictured on the front of this luscious, juicy, fruit-centric wine, layered with flavours of baking spices and clove, is Dante the vineyard's dog and 'main boss'. Apparently, like Dante, this wine is a pure Californian pedigree and made from the 'king of grapes', so a good partner to Dante, the king of the vineyard in their eyes!
Unlike Dante the dog, this Cab Sauv is a deep, inky purple colour, ripe with blackberry and blueberry fruit. The palate is very concentrated with deep plum and pomegranate, along with baking spices. Though the wine is concentrated, it's balanced with acidity and its oak profile, while ample, is well integrated. Overall the wine finishes ripe with black cherry, cassis and spices, with a very supple and silky long finish.
From the dog-obsessed winemakers themselves we hear that this wine pairs very well with a gourmet burger, aubergine moussaka or a wild boar ragu with fettuccine and foraged mushrooms along with plently of shaved Reggiano Parmesan.
