300cl * Barolo, Italy
Nicknamed the "Chambolle of Barolo," Mascarello ranks as Barolo's finest producer and the Monprivato vineyard is known for producing wines of velvety softness and a heady, Pinot-like perfume. No matter the vintage, this wine stays true to itself and proves that there are no bad vintages, just bad winemakers. In 2011, Mascarello did not bottle their flagship - it all went into this Monprivato. Abundantly elegant and generous, it has oodles of berry and spice, herbs and floral tones. Profound.

This bottle is part of a wine cellar purchased from a highly respected Master of Wine (MW) with whom I have worked for many years and who is recognised as one of the world’s Italian wine experts. It has been stored in the MW’s own cellar or climate-controlled storage and I have every belief that it is in tip-top condition. However, as with all purchases of this nature there has to be an element of caveat emptor to proceedings – as such, we will not be able to offer refunds or returns on this item.
