75cl * Bordeaux, France
A relatively small Cru Classe property in Saint-Emilion, Grand-Pontet's vineyards are well located on the famous limestone plateau next to Beau-Sejour-Becot (which they also own). 70% Merlot (the rest Cab Sauv/Franc), it shows some lovely density in sweet, mineral-laced black fruit interwoven with smoke, spice and oak. A very solid effort for the vintage (yielding decent ripeness levels from very low yields).

This bottle is part of a wine cellar purchased from a highly respected Master of Wine (MW) with whom I have worked for many years and who is recognised as one of the world’s Italian wine experts. It has been stored in the MW’s own cellar or climate-controlled storage and I have every belief that it is in tip-top condition. However, as with all purchases of this nature there has to be an element of caveat emptor to proceedings – as such, we will not be able to offer refunds or returns on this item.
