75cl * 12.5% ABV * Burgundy, France
If you're fan of Burgundy, then the name Coche-Dury needs little introduction. The family obtain tiny yields of top-quality fruit from their nine hectares of vineyards across some of the grandest villages in Burgundy: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie and Volnay. Their Chardonnays have become some of the rarest and most sought-after wines in the world but are a glimpse into why the best Burgundian wine is so great. But it is the reds - especially noted for their perfumed, intense aromas, the rich palates balanced by fresh acidity - that still reflect some relative value for this cult producer. This Pinot Noir is no exception: irresistibly aromatic, indulgently silky, and showing fleshy raspberry and strawberry fruit with subtle notes of baking spice. Drink from 2023.
Food pairing: feathered game, wild boar, Burgundian cheeses, mushroom dishes.
