Christian and Christophe Bellang (father and son) have expanded the family estate over the last few decades to 9 hectares. Some of Bellang vineyards are widely argued by critics to be one of Meursault's most underrated - this is, after all, a region with no official Grand Cru plots. Rather than the rich and oaky modern style of Meursault, this is rather pure and focused, as it's fermented and matured in mostly neutral oak. Lemon peel and juice, toasted hazelnut and dairy notes sit underneath a wine rippling with energy and tautness. Full in the mouth, but nevertheless fresh and bright. Pair with roasted turbot or bream.
