75cl * Vegan/sustainble/kosher * 13% ABV * Judean Hills, Israel/West Bank
We were rather taken with this white wine at a recent tasting from the dynamic team at Segal, a winery based in the Judean Hills. The winemaker, Ido Lewinsohn, has worked at Sassicaia and employs the skills of noted consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini, so you can be sure that this is a producer that really knows what it's doing. A relatively obscure grape variety - Colombard, more often seen in the south of France - produces a fruit-forward, bright and energetic wine with aromas of ripe pears and tropical fruit. Carbon neutral, kosher, sustainable, vegan and vegetarian to boot.
