Carignan
75cl * 12.5% ABV * Pays d'Herault, France
This is (like a certain pop star reinventing themselves) the wine formerly known as Grange du Midi. Carignan is a grape prevalent in the south of France, traditionally used in generic vin de table blends, however when its yields and growth are carefully managed in the vineyard, it can be used to make high quality, single varietal wines as well. Plump, medium-bodied and packed full of ripe red fruits, it has a touch of vanilla on the finish. A juicy red for wintry mid-week suppers.
