75cl * 13.0% ABV * Rias Baixas, Spain
Spain's westerly winegrowing region of Rias Baixas (pronounced REE-ass BY-chass) is tempered by the Atlantic Ocean, which brings cooling sea breezes and rain. The grape variety Albarino (believed to be a Riesling clone originating in Alsace) thrives in these conditions. This climatic influence gives the wines a slightly salty, mineral edge to the distinctive botanical and ripe fruit character. Light, fresh, crisp and dry, it's not hard to see why Albarino is quickly becoming the go-to white variety for those looking for something affordable and interesting. It's excellent with just about any seafood, but particularly ceviche, shrimp and crab.
