Babylonstoren is one of the oldest and most picturesque of the Cape Dutch wine farms and being located near other wine producing farms in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, it serves as the perfect base for a Cape Winelands tour. Certainly worth a visit if you’re ever in South Africa!
This is a Methode Cap Classique sparkling wine (i.e. made like Champagne) from 100% Chardonnay grapes. It combines a lovely profile of Golden Delicious apples with tropical notes, as well as a gentle brioche flavour from on-lees maturation. Excellent with light, buttery sauces or with cheese-based nibbles.
