This five-hectare property in Saint-Julien is owned by the Martin family of Chateaux Saint-Pierre and Gloria, among others in the Medoc. The late Henri Martin was one time manager at Chateau Latour. Old vines, manual harvesting and traditional fermentation techniques are employed before the wine spends 12 months in 1/3 new oak before bottling. Typically Saint-Julien in style, this charms with blackcurrant and damson fruit, deliciously soft texture and fine-grained tannins. You can feel the effect of the warm 2015 vintage here, which makes this a good early-drinker. Just 2,000 bottles are produced each vintage. Pair with a traditional Sunday roast.
