Zacharias Diamantakis has something of a cult following in Greek wine circles, who snap up as much of his production as they can. Here, he blends the Santorini native Assyrtiko with Vidiano - the hot, dry climate results in some creamy exotic fruit and heady vanilla and spice from oak maturation but tempered by crisp acidity from strong ocean breezes and vines at altitude. Full of energy and litheness and at the same time body. A real insight into the promise of modern Grecian viticulture.
