Christian and Christophe Bellang (father and son) have expanded the family estate over the last few decades to nine hectares. Some of Bellang vineyards are widely argued by critics to be one of Meursault's most underrated - this is, after all, a region with no official Grand Cru plots. Rather than the rich and oaky modern style of Meursault, this is rather pure and focused, as it's fermented and matured in mostly neutral oak. It expresses some candied citrus peel, vanilla, toasted hazelnut and ripe pear notes, with plenty of underlying minerality. Medium and bright, it would be great with white fish dishes.
