The White Lady was planted in 1991, when growing Chardonnay in South Africa was still very much frowned upon. What began as a game of cloak and dagger has resulted in the region becoming one of the world's most celebrated Chardonnay regions. Fans of classy oaked Chardonnay will delight in the inviting aromas of white nectarine, poached pear, vanilla oak and freshly cut flowers here. Silky and round, but with a clean, long lemon-tinged finish, this will benefit from a few years of bottle age. Can stand up to full-flavoured, spicy dishes, but is just as at home with a slice of creamy cheese and a piece of crusty bread.
Serve at 8-12 °C.
