The Lamothe-Cissac estate is a stone's throw from the more prestigious (and the heart-stoppingly expensive) estates of Chateaux Latour and Lafites, and even in the Roman times the area around the estate was known to produce quality wines. The nose is ripe with notes of blackcurrant and plum, as well as soft spice and vanilla overtones from the oak. This is well-balanced and soft - already drinking nicely now - but has excellent potential for ageing, with which a mixture of leather, smoke and undergrowth notes will emerge. Ideal with lamb or beef entrecote.
