37.5cl * 11% ABV * Alsace, France
Alsace is the source of many of the world's finest wines, but remains a chronically underrated wine region and thus offers immense value to drinkers and collectors. With its floral aroma, spicy flavour and rich texture, Gewurztraminer is one of the most characteristic varieties and reaches its finest expression in Alsace. This top-drawer, late harvest sweetie has Grand Cru status, although Hugel decide to leave that off the label as they disagree with parts of the AOC system. A rich and heady nose of lychee, sweet spice and mango, this has a lovely viscosity without being cloying. Sip with Munster cheese or alongside fruit-based puddings.
