The Barons Ricasoli have occupied Brolio for the 10 centuries since they established it in 1141, and during this time they have shaped the history of the Chianti Classico territory and its wines. In fact, it was Bettino, the 'Iron Baron' who founded the Chianti Classico blend in the 19th century. Today, Barone Ricasoli, is the fourth oldest company in the world still run by its founding family. It is the largest estate inside the Chianti Classico appellation, with 250 hectares planted to vine. Bright and lively, with enveloping, sweet aromas of cherry, violet and strawberry balanced by tobacco and vanilla. Medium-bodied and supple. Super with a simple grill or cheese platter.
