Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
75cl * 13.5% ABV * Tuscany, Italy
From a handful of vineyards surrounding the exalted Bolgheri region, Guidalberto was created in 2000 in order to show what the estate could do with Merlot and to offer drinkers a wine for younger consumption than the the flagship Sassicaia. A youthful and rounded nose oozing blackcurrant, cherry and damson, with framing mineral, balsamic and black olive notes. Tobacco, camphor and roasted coffee notes whirl around the glass. A gorgeous, showy wine that more than hints at its big brother, but for a fraction of the price. Drink to 2032.
"This is the wine that always delivers early in its life - and it offers real value, too," Nicolas Clerc MS.
