A blend of multiple unique batches, Bacchus is one of the stars of the Albourne range, delivering a distinctive wine characterised by water-white paleness, a crisp refreshing mouthfeel and notable aromatic complexity.
The diversity of aromas range from herbal (basil, sage, nettle) to citrus (lime, grapefruit) to fruit (medlar, mango, passionfruit) to floral (elderflower). The Bacchus grape variety originated in Germany in the 1930s as a cross between Muller-Thurgau and Silvaner x Riesling, hence the wonderfully complex nature of its resulting wine.
Enjoy this English wine with soft cheeses (especially those wrapped in nettle) and seafood linguine.
