Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot * 75cl * 13% ABV * Yarra Valley, Australia
Established in 1969 by Bailey Carrodus, Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in the Yarra Valley. The 70-acre site lies on a north-facing hillside of deep, crumbly gravel soil. 1973 was the first vintage for the Dry Red No.1 and since then the wine has become truly iconic and one of Australia's most sought-after exports. The Dry Red No.1 is the estate's Cabernet-based and Bordeaux-inspired creation. The winemaker is currently Sarah Crowe - Australian Winemaker of the Year 2017. Bright blackcurrant fruit with savoury complexity and fine grained tannin. This has plenty of stuffing and will age gracefully over the next decade at least, developing into an extraordinarily exotic, gamey nuances over time.
