Mourvedre * 75cl * 13% ABV * Simonsberg, South Africa
South Africa is proving itself to be quite a useful resource of pale pink, southern French-style rose. Cool raspberry aromas with added strawberry yoghurt, thyme, crisp lemon and summer fruits. Medium-bodied, light and crisp, Mourvedre is certainly an usual choice of variety for rose but what a winner it is here. Babylonstoren is one of the oldest and most picturesque of the Cape Dutch wine farms and being located near other wine producing farms in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, it serves as the perfect base for a Cape Winelands tour. Certainly worth a visit if you’re ever in South Africa!
