Pinot Noir * 75cl * 11% ABV * Kent, England
Recent winner of a Gold Award (and special trophy from the critics choice section) from the Sommelier Wine Awards, this English Pinot Noir really isn't half bad. The estate itself dates back to 1503 but the owner, Richard Balfour-Lyn, only started planting vines on his hectares in 2002. Winemaker Owen Elias has won UK Winemaker of the Year four times and has 20 years' experience in the trade.
Bright ruby red, with a very clean and aromatic nose. Classic cool climate Pinot characteristics with cherry, leather and hints of raspberry. The palate is light and fresh, ripe red berry and redcurrant flavours supported by a touch of spicy pepperiness. Good length, showing flavours of raspberry, black pepper and sublte mint.
We love this English PN because it truly is an English wine we can be proud of - and we highly recommend you try it too.
