Gin * 70cl * 40% ABV * Hampshire, England
First launched in 1987 - although with its enduring appeal you'd be forgiven for thinking it's been around for longer - and later bought by Diageo (and then Bacardi) in 1997. Its name originates from the popularity of gin in India during the British Raj and 'Sapphire' refers to the violet-blue Star of Bombay. The 10 botanicals used include the enticingly named Grains of Paradise, as well as bitter almonds that give the gin its appealing smooth feel. Serve (as a double) with premium tonic.
